DESCRIPTION:The ABR Radiology Board Cerification Exams (\"Orals\") wil
 l be given onMay 31 - June 3, located in Louisville KY.\n\nInformation
  about board certification:\nDiagnostic radiology encompasses a variet
 y of diagnostic and image-guided therapeutic techniques, including all
  aspects of radiological diagnosis, nuclear radiology, diagnostic ultr
 asound, magnetic resonance, computed tomography, interventional proced
 ures and the use of other forms of radiant energy.\n\nThe Certificate\
 n\nAs you go through your residency and as you finish, you take examin
 ations that afford you your first certification, which will be in diag
 nostic radiology.\n\nIf you have chosen to subspecialize, you can also
  take exams to qualify for certificates of added qualification (subspe
 cialties). Those certificates can be in:\n\nNeuroradiology\nNuclear Ra
 diology\nPediatric Radiology\nVascular and Interventional Radiology.\n
 \n\nYour certificate is time-limited; it is good for ten years.\n\nOve
 r those ten years, you are expected to continue learning and improving
  your skills in a personalized program (see ABR-MOC). Then, before the
  end of the tenth year (any time within the last three years of the cy
 cle), you take a maintenance of certification exam. This is a practice
  profiled, computer case-based, single answer, multiple choice examina
 tion. The examination is distinctly different from the current Oral Ex
 am. When you have completed all that is required for the MOC cycle, yo
 u are issued a new certificate.\n\nNOTE: Beginning in 2009, candidates
  will have a 10-year period after completion of training and within wh
 ich to obtain initial certification.\n\nA candidate who does not obtai
 n initial certification as of the ninth year after completion of train
 ing should contact the American Board of Radiology to obtain further i
 nformation. Candidates who completed their training prior to 2009 and 
 who have not yet obtained initial certification should also contact th
