SUMMARY:AFIP Radiologic-Pathologic Correlation Course
DESCRIPTION:AFIP Radiologic-pathologic correlation course - the course
curriculum maintains its focus on emphasizing the radpath corelation,
pathophysiologic understanding of disease as a basis for interpretati
on of imaging studies. Interactive case-based sessions including use o
f an audience response technology has been interspersed with didactic
sessions. Functional and molecular imaging has also been incorporated
into the curriculum.\n\nIn order to plan for the AFIP's upcoming year,
we encourage you to schedule your residency slots as accurately and a
s soon as possible. If last year is any indication, the courses become
full quite rapidly; this is indicated by a pending status (this denot
es the course is currently full) when trying to register on the websit
 e. We thank you for your continued support of AFIP Radiologic Patholog
y Correlation Course and Department of Radiologic Pathology.\n\nThe Fo
ur-Week Radiologic Pathology Course is designed to aid residents in th
eir endeavors to achieve excellence in the technologically advancing s
pecialty of radiology by employing radiologic-pathologic correlation i
n the identification of disease. The Department of Radiologic Patholog
y, one of 22 specialty departments within the Armed Forces Institute o
f Pathology located in Washington, DC, has instructed more than 18,000
radiology residents and practicing radiologists from around the world
. The Course fulfills training requirements for over 310 residency pro
grams. The current Radiologic Pathology course is a comprehensive revi
ew of radiologic imaging with pathologic correlation providing over tw
o hundred hours of didactic instruction and case seminars. The course
is organized into six separate sections: gastrointestinal radiology, g
enitourinary radiology, musculoskeletal radiology, neuroradiology, ped
iatric radiology, and thoracic radiology, and is taught by six full-ti
me staff radiologists, a Distinguished Scientist in radiology, and num
erous eminent visiting professors.\n\nPlease visit the AFIP's website
for more information.\n\nFor more information visit https://community.
