Intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and image g uided radiation therapy (IGRT) combine all these improvements to allow higher treatment doses to more irregular tumor volumes with the promi se to improve patient outcomes.\nThis course will address the implemen tation of these technologies to the treatment of multiple disease site s. Emphasis will be placed on the clinical and technical dosimetry iss ues for a successful IMRT program. Related technologies, such as TomoT herapy and CyberKnife, will be covered in brief to update the attendee on these tools. The attendee is expected to know the basics of 3D con formal planning and plan evaluation as taught in the MTMI 12-day Dosim etrist Course.\n\nThis course provides 24 continuing medical education credits for Certified Medical Dosimetrists recognized by the MDCB and 24 hours of Category A credits for Radiologic Technologists recognize d by the ARRT. A certificate of attendance will be provided for each i ndividual upon completion of the course.
