DESCRIPTION:At the completion of this program, the participant should 
 be able to:\nIdentify sonographic characteristics associated with hepa
 tobiliary disease, pancreatic pathology, renal disease and fluid local
 ization.\nExplain the role of ultrasound for extended applications inc
 luding, but not limited to, pneumothorax, ocular and musculoskeletal p
 rocedures in the emergency department.\nDemonstrate the use of ultraso
 und guidance for vascular access.\nExplain imag. techniques & scan pla
 nes used in cardiac U/S.\nRecognize normal cardiac structures & identi
 fy ultrasound findings associated with cardiomyopathy, pericardial eff
 usion, cardiogenic shock, dissection & other hypotensive conditions.\n
 Discuss imaging techniques, normal and abnormal characteristics associ
 ated with lower extremity venous examinations.\nExplain examination te
 chniques, normal sonographic findings and commonly seen abnormalities 
 associated with testicular ultrasound.\nDescribe scanning techniques u
 sed in foreign body localization.\nIncrease knowledge and confidence t
