DESCRIPTION:Diagnostic ultrasound has now evolved to become the most c
 ost effective and efficient procedure in the arsenal of diagnostic ima
 ging procedures. With the rising costs of health care, it is a matter 
 of necessity to utilize cost effective, rapid and accurate ways to dia
 gnose and treat patients at the “point of care”. This course will 
 address emerging applications of emergency medicine ultrasound and wil
 l benefit those practioners with prior experience in ultrasound.\nThe 
 power and size of the new portable ultrasound equipment has expanded t
 he application of bedside ultrasound from advanced cardiac evaluation 
 and pulmonary applications, to ultrasound guided treatments and interv
 entions. Emphasis will be placed on acquisitions of the knowledge and 
 scanning skills needed for vascular access techniques, evaluation of D
 VT’s and integration of  point-of-care echocardiography into sympto
