SUMMARY:ACR-Dartmouth PET/CT Course
DESCRIPTION:Course Overview\n\nPET/CT has become the standard-of-care 
 imaging modality in cancer management and has garnered an evolving rol
 e in diagnosing neurodegenerative and cardiovascular diseases. This 15
 0-case, three-day preceptorship is designed to provide practicing radi
 ologists and nuclear medicine physicians with an intensive, hands-on e
 xperience in reading PET/CT.\n\nAttendees will interpret more than 150
  PET/CT scans in a front-line fashion covering all clinical applicatio
 ns, including those in oncology, neurology, and cardiology. Each multi
 ple-scan interpretation session concludes with a detailed review of th
 e key findings. This session also provides learners with a higher leve
 l of expertise and confidence in interpreting PET/CT.\n\nIf you have a
 lready completed some formal course work on PET and/or PET/CT but only
  have limited experience reading scans in daily clinical practice, thi

 his conference, participants will be able to:\n\n1. Understand the cli
 nical applications of PET/CT\n\n2. Describe the basic principles of ac
 quiring and interpreting PET/CT\n\n3. Recognize normal variants, incid
 ental findings, and pitfalls on PET/CT\n\n4. Use PET/CT for monitoring
  therapy and for radiation therapy planning\n\nAttendees who interpret
  a minimum of 150 PET/CT scans will be awarded a Certificate of Profic
 iency stating they meet the case requirement as specified in the ACR P
 ractice Guideline for the performance of positron emission tomography 
 (PET) and computed tomography (CT) in adults.\nRequired Course Materia
