SUMMARY:ACLS & Airway Management Hands On Workshop
DESCRIPTION:This workshop will provide participants with American Hear
 t Association ACLS® Certification and provide a full day of emergency
  airway management techniques. Course consists of didactic lectures, i
 ntensive imaging, discussion and hands -on workshop with the world's m
 ost realistic airway mannequins and patient simulators.\n\nAudience: T
 his course is appropriate for physicians, dentists, nurses and all all
 ied health and dental professionals who are involved in the administra
 tion of sedation & analgesia.\n\nObjectives: At the conclusion of this
  program, participants should be able to:\n\n1. Recognize and initiate
  early management of peri-arrest conditions that may result in cardiac
  arrest or complicate resuscitation outcome;\n2. Manage cardiac or res
 piratory arrest until return of spontaneous circulation and respiratio
 n, termination of resuscitation or transfer of care;\n3. Recognize oth
 er life threatening clinical situations and provide effective initial 
 care and transfer to reduce disability and death;\n4. Describe & demon
 strate a variety of techniques for maintaining oxygenation;\n5. Recogn
 ition and anticipation of difficult airways\n\nDevices: Mask ventilati
 on, LMA and King LT rescue Ventilation, AirTraq Optical Laryngoscope\n
 Direct Laryngoscopy, Malleable Stylette, and Bougies (tube introducers
 )\nFaculty: American Heart Association® Certified ACLS Instructors & 
 Richard Levitan, MD\n\nAbout: Dr. Levitan has published approximately 
 30 peer-reviewed articles on emergency airway management and is the au
 thor of 2 textbooks. He serves on the Editorial Board of Annals of Eme
 rgency Medicine, and is a reviewer for numerous emergency medicine and
  anesthesia journals. He has been a design consultant and investigator
  for many airway device manufacturers. He has given approximately 350 
 lectures on airway management worldwide, and for almost ten years has 
 run a monthly hands-on cadaver-based airway workshop. He is currently 
 an Associate Professor in Emergency Medicine at Thomas Jefferson Medic
