 nal Doppler has become an addition in the arsenal of tools available t
 o the physician to aid in the diagnosis of their patients. Vascular ul
 trasound has progressed over the years to become much more than a scre
 ening tool. Accurate diagnostic testing of the vascular system require
 s a comprehensive understanding of anatomy and hemodynamics as well as
  the various pathological conditions that can present. Multiple variab
 les such as cardiac output, abnormal liver enzymes, cirrhosis, metasta
 tic and renal disease can all have an impact on the vascular system. 
 \nThis one-day seminar provides an overview of abdominal vasculature a
 nd hemodynamics, and diagnostic criteria suitable for anyone from an e
 xperienced sonographer to the beginner. Our scan lab and state of the 
 art equipment, along with our low student instructor ratios allow you 
 plenty of time to perfect your protocol, and acquire the scanning expe
 rience necessary to perform diagnostic abdominal vascular exams.\n*Thi
 s course can be taken individually as a two (2) day course OR part of 
 the Vascular Ultrasound seven (7) day course.\nObjectives At the com
 pletion of this course, the learner will be able to:\n\nCorrectly iden
 tify vessel anatomy and orientation in an abdominal vascular ultrasoun
 d examination to include renal, portal venous system, and mesenteric v
 essels.\nIdentify the variations in instrumentation and Doppler princi
 ples and the effects in scanning parameters.\nDescribe the flow charac
 teristics and the manifestations of disease processes.\nAnalyze the re
 sults of an abdominal vascular exam for pathological conditions and in
  certain cases, quantify the diseases.\nIdentify additional resource i
 nformation on abdominal vascular ultrasound.\n\nCourse Topics\nThis on
 e day seminar starts with an overview of abdominal vascular system and
  the hemodynamics of both color flow Doppler and pulsed Doppler. You w
 ill learn to optimize your ultrasound system for even the most difficu
 lt patient. After lunch you will be introduced to our scan lab with st
 ate of the art equipment platforms and low student instructor ratios w
 here you will learn the specific controls for each of the platforms on
  the floor, basic scanning techniques, and patient positioning.\n\nFor
