 e is designed for the clinical radiologist who specializes in breast i
 maging or who practices general diagnostic radiology that includes bre
 ast imaging. It is intended to provide a practical review of clinicall
 y relevant topics in diagnostic imaging of the breast with ample oppor
 tunity for interaction with world-renowned experts in the field during
  faculty panel discussions and small group workshops. New this year is
  added content on breast MRI, MR safety, medicolegal aspects of breast
  imaging, and managing the difficult patient.\n\nAt the completion of 
 this course, the participant will be able to:\n1. Compare the consider
 ations applicable to screening with different breast imaging technique
 s, including mammography, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, CT and MRI;\n2
 . Describe the rationale and expected outcomes for imaging surveillanc
 e of probably benign lesions of the breast;\n3. Understand the appropr
 iate use of BIRADs and be familiar with recent updates;\n4. Use method
 s to reduce the number of false-negative and false-positive mammograph
 y interpretations;\n5. Describe the key medicolegal aspects of breast 
 imaging practice;\n6. Assist in diagnostic workups using interventiona
 l breast imaging procedures, including percutaneous sampling of nonpal
 pable lesions;\n7. Recognize the indications, strengths and weaknesses
  of current breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques.\n\nEAR
 N SAM CREDIT\nAn opportunity for completion of a Self-Assessment Modul
 e will also be offered. “Breast Imaging Review for the General Radio
 logist” (ABR # UCSS100507-0163) was approved on May 24, 2007, and is
  qualified by the American Board of Radiology in meeting the criteria 
 for self-assessment toward the purpose of fulfilling requirements in t
 he ABR Maintenance of Certification Program. Note that SAM credits are
  required for all radiologists who have been certified since 2002.\n\n
