 iew\n\nHigh quality mammographic images have a direct impact on the qu
 ality of care for patients being evaluated for breast cancer.\nThe MTM
 I Mammography Course for Technologists continues its reputation as the
  premier initial training course for mammography technologists and inc
 ludes 8 hours introduction to digital mammography as required by MQSA 
 for operations of digital mammography devices.\nThis comprehensive cou
 rse uses lecture sessions, radiographs and hands-on training sessions 
 with live models to enhance your skills and understanding of the mammo
 graphy process. Quality control, technologist responsibilities for qua
 lity assurance, positioning with breast implants as required by MQSA a
 nd film critique are also covered.\n\nExtended clinical training is av
 ailable on a limited basis for technologists wishing to complete their
  25 supervised exams. Please see information below.\n\nCourse Objectiv
 es\n\nAt the completion of this course,\nparticipants will be able to:
 \nDemonstrate basic positioning skills for the CC and MLO views.\nExpl
 ain advanced positioning technique for supplementary views, difficult 
 patients and implant patients.\nDescribe how various physical characte
 ristics of the x-ray tube affect mammographic imaging.\nPerform mammog
 raphic quality control testing procedures per MQSA guidelines.\nDescri
 be the differences between imaging systems used to perform Full Field 
 Digital Mammography (FFDM) examinations.\nDescribe and develop a compr
 ehensive quality assurance program for digital mammography.\nUnderstan
 d the differences between film-screen and digital imaging.\nDescribe t
 he parameters in digital imaging that control resolution and contrast.
 \nKnow the differences in image display/output devices used in digital
  mammography.\nDescribe newly emerging technologies used with digital

 \nThis intensive course will utilize a combination of lecture sessions
  and hands-on positioning workshops taught by a team of experienced ma
 mmography instructors. Participants will be individually evaluated on 
 their competency by demonstrating basic mammography positioning on a l
 ive model. Clinical case studies will be reviewed during the course an
 d film critique skills will be addressed.\nThe 40 hour MTMI course is 
 highly recommended and includes 8 hours of digital mammography, film c
 ritique, breast pathology, mammograhy QC and advanced hands-on positio
 ning.\nThe 35.5 hour course includes the 8 hours of Digital Mammograph
 y training as required by MQSA.\nA short course consisting of 3 days c
 an be take for 27.5 hours of credit.\nThe 25 supervised clinical exam

 DA regulatory requirements and for registry exam preparation. The Mamm
 ography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) mandates that technologists compl
 ete 40 hours of documented training specific to mammography. In additi
 on, 25 mammography exams (not included in this course - see option abo
 ve) must be performed under the direct supervision of a qualified mamm
 ographr, and in some states can be counted toward the 40 hour training
