is symposium provides a practical teaching course for those who order,
perform or interpret magnetic resonance imaging studies. The program
is organized in such a way to allow registrants to attend all or just
a portion of the meeting. Three focused segments provide a comprehensi
ve yet practical review and update on the clinical applications of MRI
. The meeting begins by focusing on the head and spine, moves into the
musculoskeletal system and concludes with cardiovascular and body app
lications.\n\nA special segment of the program focuses on equipment co
mparisons and capabilities. Those registrants planning to purchase MRI
equipment should find this Wednesday morning session particularly val
uable as companies discuss their present capabilities and their plans
for the future.\n\nTARGET AUDIENCE\n\nThis CME activity is primarily i
ntended and designed to educate diagnostic imaging physicians who supe
rvise and interpret MRI/MRA studies. It should also be useful for refe
rring physicians who order these studies so that they might gain a gre
ater appreciation of the strengths and limitations of clinically relev
ant MRI exams. Technologists performing these types of imaging exams s
hould also gain benefit from this symposium.\n\nEDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES
\n\nAttendees, at the completion of this course, should be able to:\n\
nRecognize the appearance of normal anatomy and common pathology of al
l organ systems as seen with MRI\nImplement into practice protocols fo
r MR angiography such as neurological, body and cardiac applications\n
Discuss the clinical benefits of perfusion, diffusion, and functional
imaging techniques\nIncorporate state of the art spine imaging protoco
ls to clinical practice\nUtilize MRI to evaluate patients with actual
or suspected musculoskeletal pathology\nDescribe the expanding clinica
l applications of MRI in assessing pathology of the abdomen\nEvaluate
the use of MRI in the assessment of breast pathology\nDescribe expandi
ng clinical applications for MRI in the assessment of cardiac disease\
nApply MR safety and contrast enhanced imaging guidelines to clinical
practice\n\nINSTRUCTORS:\nAwh, Decker, Feller, Ho, Johnson, Low, Maki,
Miller, Ojeda-Fournier, Reeder, Ross, Tanenbaum, Tirman, Truwit, Wata
