G DESCRIPTION:\n----About the Meeting\nThe meeting at Encore at Wynn L
as Vegas begins on March 30, 2009 with formal lectures scheduled throu
ghout the day. (Registration will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2009 fr
om 5:00 - 6:00 PM). Question and answer sessions complement the teachi
ng program and provide for interaction between registrants and the fac
ulty.\nThis symposium provides a practical, comprehensive review of th
e important aspects of clinical MRI/MRA of the head & spine. Physician
s and technologists practicing MRI of the head and spine should unders
tand how to get the most out of current equipment and how to plan for
new purchases or upgrades. A special non-accredited segment of the pro
gram focuses on equipment comparisons and capabilities. Those registra
nts planning to purchase MRI equipment should find this Wednesday morn
ing session particularly valuable as companies discuss their present c
apabilities and their plans for the future.\n\n----Target Audience\nTh
is CME activity is primarily intended and designed to educate those ph
ysicians who supervise and interpret neuroradiology MRI studies. Thus,
it should be particularly helpful for radiologists, neurologists, and
neurosurgeons. This CME activity should also be useful for referring
physicians who order these studies so that they might gain a greater a
ppreciation of the strengths and limitations of clinically relevant ne
 uroradiography.\n\n----Educational Objectives\nAttendees should, at th
e completion of this course, be able to:\n\nDescribe expanded applicat
ions and pitfalls for MRI/ MRA as it applies to the evaluation of the
head and spine\n\n\nRecognize the MRI appearance of normal anatomy and
common pathology\n\nIncorporate protocols to effectively assess patie
nts with CNS pathology\n\nDiscuss the clinical benefits of functional
imaging, perfusion, and diffusion imaging techniques\n\nEffectively as
sess stroke patients using MRI techniques\n\nExplain the clinical appl
ication and advantages provided with volumetric MR imaging techniques\
n\nPlan intelligently for equipment acquisition and subsequent upgrade
s\n\nNo special educational preparation is required for this CME activ
 ity.\n\nINSTRUCTORS:\nBradley, Brant-Zawadzki, Creasy, Feller, Mukherj
