 G DESCRIPTION:\n----About the Meeting\nThis symposium provides a pract
ical teaching course for those who order, perform or interpret magneti
c resonance imaging studies. The program is organized in such a way to
allow registrants to attend all or just a portion of the meeting. Thr
ee focused segments provide a comprehensive yet practical review and u
pdate on the clinical applications of MRI. The meeting begins by focus
ing on the head and spine, moves into the musculoskeletal system and c
oncludes with cardiovascular and body applications.\n\nA special segme
nt of the program focuses on equipment comparisons and capabilities. T
hose registrants planning to purchase MRI equipment should find this W
ednesday morning session particularly valuable as companies discuss th
eir present capabilities and their plans for the future.\n\n----Target
Audience\nThis CME activity is primarily intended and designed to edu
cate diagnostic imaging physicians who supervise and interpret MRI/MRA
studies. It should also be useful for referring physicians who order
these studies so that they might gain a greater appreciation of the st
rengths and limitations of clinically relevant MRI exams. Technologist
s performing these types of imaging exams should also gain benefit fro
 m this symposium.\n\n----Educational Objectives\nAttendees should, at
the completion of this course, be able to:\n\nRecognize the appearance
of normal anatomy and common pathology as seen with MRI\n\nImplement
into their practices protocols for MR angiography such as neurological
, body and cardiac applications\nDiscuss the clinical benefits of perf
usion, diffusion, and functional imaging techniques\n\nUtilize MRI to
evaluate patients with actual or suspected musculoskeletal pathology\n
\nDescribe the expanding clinical applications of MRI in assessing pat
hology of the abdomen\n\nEvaluate the use of MRI in the assessment of
breast pathology\n\nDescribe the expanding uses for MRI in cardiac dis
ease assessment\n\nAcknowledge current safety and contrast enhancement
guidelines\n\nCompare the clinical applications of MRA with other ima
ging modalities\n\nNo special educational preparation is required for
this CME activity.\n\nINSTRUCTORS:\nAwh, Bradley, Brant-Zawadzki, Corn
feld, Creasy, Decker, Edelman, Finn, Ho, Mukherji, Reeder, Ross, Tanen
baum, White, Kelly, Miller, Mitchell, Mock\n\nCME HOURS: 38\n\nLECTURE
