 e is helpful for mammographers and sonographers who are directly invol
 ved in breast imaging. Participants should have an understanding of th
 e basic concepts of mammography. If you are a mammographer looking for
  training in breast ultrasound or a sonographer wanting to review basi
 c breast imaging skills, this course is for you.\n\nEducational Object
 ives\nAt the completion of this seminar,br participants will be able t
 o:\n\n• Optimize preparation for ARRT and ARDMS Breast Ultrasound Re
 gistry exams.\n• Understand how the basic principles and instrumenta
 tion of ultrasound affect the technique of breast ultrasound.\n• Rec
 ognize normal breast anatomy on the ultrasound image and evaluate lesi
 ons for their benign or malignant features.\n• Recall the mammograph
 ic and ultrasonic features of specific benign and malignant lesions.\n
 • Explain the role and importance of mammography, ultrasound, MRI nu
 clear medicine, and ductography in the work up and management of the b
 reast.\n• Recognize breast ultrasound artifacts, understand why they
  occur, and describe techniques to minimize the occurrence of those th
 at degrade the image.\n• Develop an awareness of the invasive proced
 ures that are available, as well as, the benefits and limitations of e
 ach.\n• Define the different surgical and nonsurgical treatment opti

 , RT(R)\n\nCourse Format\nThis course combines lecture sessions and ha
 nds-on positioning workshops taught by a team of experienced sonograph
 ers, technologists and a physician. Instruction in patient scanning is
  stressed with hands-on demonstrations using clinical ultrasound scann
 ers, tissue equivalent breast phantoms and live models.\n\nCourse Cred
 it\n\nThis program provides 16 hours of Category A credit for radiolog
 ic technologists and sonographers. Accreditation comes from the ASRT a
 nd is recognized and accepted by both the ARRT and the ARDMS.\nA certi
 ficate of attendance will be provided for each individual upon complet
 ion of the program. All attendees must attend the entire program to re
 ceive full credit.Credit from various licensure states has been approv
 ed.\n\nThese credits apply\ntowards your MQSA requirements.\n\nRecomme
