DESCRIPTION:2 Day Breast Ultrasound Course\n\nCourse Overview\n\nThis 
 course will provide increased knowledge of the technical and clinical 
 aspects of breast ultrasound as well as practical hands-on training of
  ultrasound imaging of the breast. An overview of the basic principles
  and techniques utilized in breast ultrasound will be presented.\n\nTh
 is course will be helpful for mammographers and sonographers who are d
 irectly involved in breast imaging. Participants should have an unders
 tanding of the basic concepts of mammography.\n\nEducational Objective
 s\n\nAt the completion of this seminar,\nparticipants will be able to:
 \n\nâ€¢ Optimize preparation for ARRT and ARDMS Breast Ultrasound Regi
 stry exams.\nâ€¢ Understand how the basic principles and instrumentati
 on of ultrasound affect the technique of breast ultrasound.\nâ€¢ Recog
 nize normal breast anatomy on the ultrasound image and evaluate lesion
 s for their benign or malignant features.\nâ€¢ Recall the mammographic
  and ultrasonic features of specific benign and malignant lesions.\nâ€
 ¢ Explain the role and importance of mammography, ultrasound, MRI nucl
 ear medicine, and ductography in the work up and management of the bre
 ast.\nâ€¢ Recognize breast ultrasound artifacts, understand why they o
 ccur, and describe techniques to minimize the occurrence of those that
  degrade the image.\nâ€¢ Develop an awareness of the invasive procedur
 es that are available, as well as, the benefits and limitations of eac
 h.\nâ€¢ Define the different surgical and nonsurgical treatment option

 \n\nThis course will utilize a combination of lecture sessions and han
 ds-on positioning workshops taught by an experienced sonographer and t
 echnologist. Instruction in patient scanning is stressed with hands-on
  demonstrations using clinical ultrasound scanners, tissue equivalent 
 breast phantoms and live models.\n\nCourse Credit\n\nThis course provi
 des 12.25 hours of continuing medical education credit accepted by the
  ARDMS for medical sonographers. It provides 12.25 hours of Category A
  credit accepted by the ARRT for radiologic technologists, and provide
 s credit from various licensure states. A certificate of attendance wi
 ll be provided for each individual upon completion of the course. All 
 attendees must attend the entire course to receive full credit.\n\nThe
