This is actually a feature request for the radRounds team.
I think we need a place where we can post interesting cases, either as quizzes or for general discussion.
Should be interesting with so many of us around from all over the world.
I don't know if that is feasible in this platform! I checked the readingRoom, which is basically a place for links. I don't see any place labeled pictures / album.
Any thoughts?
Hi Vijay, We are thinking alike. The place to post interesting cases is one of the features we are working on. We will have a preliminary function that will allow people to share photos / images (cases basically)--it will not be the final version but more of a stepping stone to a final version where all radrounds users will be able to share images. i.e. kind of like FLICKR but for radiology. readingRoom is currently a place for links. We will be developing the readingRoom more in the next few weeks.
As for quizzes, that is a great idea---we will add that onto the radRounds member wishlist!!
We totally agree and stay tuned!! Thanks for your wonderful post about us. We look forward to a great partnership and let us know if we can help you out or if you have any more suggestions too!
Hope you like the cases function---per your suggestion, we accelerated the set up of it! thanks for uploading a case already! Send us some more! Cool to see images from around the world.
I've been bugging the RSNA MIRC folks for years to put window/level functionality and scrollable stacks into their software. There were two presenters at RSNA this year that can do both over the web using JPEG 2000..which is 8 bit instead of 12 bit...as DICOM images are but I think 8 bit is good enough, especially considering the human eye can only differentiate 5 bits. The other presentation at RSNA this year was done by Tadashi Tsuchimoto. It's a very complex process to install and configure their software, from what I could gather. MYPACS may be a good solution. They allow you to publish unlimited cases for free and you can window/level and do stacks. I wonder if you could imbed their software in this site? If not...provide a link and allow users to post comments on this site?
