Ryan Furlough has nearly 15 years of Healthcare IT and Project Management experience. His primary focus has been work flow design, clinical systems management, and business development in healthcare services. Additionally, Ryan strives to provide healthcare services in under-served, underprivileged areas around the globe through the use of technology and telemedicine.
Ryan is experienced implementing new technologies along with success identifying, implementing and managing the work flow processes. All of this while reducing cost, increasing efficiency, maintaining regulatory compliance.
Most recently, Ryan worked as a Director of Implementations with Radius, an ASP provider of RamSoft PACS/RIS Product line and Radiology datacenter services, in the areas of business development, deployment, and support.
Prior to joining Radius, Ryan spent over 4 years at USTeleradiology, a national provider of teleradiology services, as the Director of Operations. At USTeleradiology, Ryan was responsible for work flow, credentialing, compliance, and operations departments. He produced programs to provided customer support and account management to over 120 clients in 15 states.
Ryan was instrumental in USTeleradiology’s efforts to achieve Joint Commission Accreditation and has continued to stay current with Joint Commission and HIPAA standards. During his time at USTeleradiology, Ryan assisted in the merger of Nighthawk Pros in Philadelphia, PA which had an existing customer base of 40 customers in 10 states.
Ryan also continues to provide his expertise in compliance activities for Healthcare Quality Improvement Resources(www.hqir.com) and Experienced Radiology Consulting(www.expradconsulting.com) as a Joint Commission Compliance consultant. He also served as the moderator for MedicExchange Teleradiology and PACS Discussion Group (www.medicexchange.com/teleradiology). And wrote articles for MedicExchange’s newsletter which is available to over 20,000 members.
In 2009, Ryan participated in a live round table discussion hosted by MedicExchange.com called ‘Roundtable Vets Hot Topics in Teleradiology’ that included various teleradiology experts to discuss the impacts of funding, EMR ,and DRA on Teleradiology which was attended by over 2000 members.
In 2010, Ryan coauthored HIMSS’s first Telemedicine RFP with the HIMSS RFP Workgroup which can be access by its 17,000 members
In 2008, Ryan successfully obtained the PARCA CPAS certification which is for professionals who are engaged with the support, maintenance and day-to-day management of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
In 2003, Ryan graduated with honors from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering.
